On-The-Go-Snack Bars
 
i got this recipe off of another yahoo recipe group that i am on. i 
copied it the way it was on the e-mail to give credit to who sent it 
through. 
 
 
hi all-- 
i made these yesterday...they were ok, but awfully dry. when i was 
typing up the recipe today i think i might have discovered why they 
were so dry. when i was mixing the dry ingredients it didn't mention 
mixing in the milk...i was thinking nonfat dry milk, so i just added 
it in. when i looked again at the recipe it calls for 1/4 cup nonfat 
milk (not dry milk). so with that stated, i may try them again....so 
if you try this recipe, make sure you use liquid milk, not dry!! 
other than that, they were very tasty!

1-1/3 cup  flour
1 cup  quick oats
1/2 cup  splenda
2 tsp  baking powder
1/2 tsp  baking soda
1 tsp  cinnamon
1/4 tsp  nutmeg
1/4 cup  nonfat milk
1/2 cup  applesauce
1   egg
1   egg white
1/2 cup  raisins
1 cup  mashed bananas
1 tsp  vanilla
 
stir together flour, oats, splenda, baking powder, baking soda, 
cinnamon and nutmeg. add remaining ingredients and mix until smooth. 
spread batter evenly in a non-stick 9x13-inch baking pan or spray pan 
with cooking spray. bake at 350 until bars are golden brown and just 
begins to pull away from pan sides, about 35-40 minutes. serve warm 
or cool, cut into 2 inch squares. 
 
to store---wrap each bar tightly with plastic wrap and keep frozen 
for use as needed.
