3 Tbsp  all-purpose flour
1 Tbsp  mustard
1/2 tsp  salt
1/4 tsp  tabasco sauce
1   16 ounce can green beans
  milk
1   16 ounce can pearl onions
1 cup  buttered bread cubes
 
melt butter; add flour, stirring until smooth 
 
add mustard, salt, tabasco, and bean liquid plus milk to make 1 1/2 
cups; cook until thick. add beans and drained onions. place in a 
greased 1-quart casserole; border with buttered bread crumbs. 
 
bake in preheated 375f. oven for 30 minutes, or until bread crumbs 
brown.

1 tsp  salt
  freshly ground pepper
1 tsp  sugar
1 tsp  grated onion
1 cup  sour cream
2   9 ounces packages french-style green beans -- cooked and
  drained
2 cup  shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup  cornflake crumbs
 
preheat oven to 350f. grease a shallow 2 quart baking dish. 
 
in a large saucepan, heat 3 tablespoons butter and stir in flour. cook 
and stir over low heat until bubbly, about 3 minutes. remove from heat 
and stir in salt and pepper, sugar, onion, and sour cream. add the 
drained beans and blend well. transfer to casserole. cover with cheese 
and top with cornflake crumbs mixed with the remaining tablespoon of 
melted butter. bake for 30 minutes.

1   19 ounce can bean sprouts
1   8 ounce can sliced water chestnuts
1/2 cup  grated parmesan cheese
6 Tbsp  butter
2 Tbsp  all-purpose flour
1-1/4 tsp  salt
1/4 tsp  pepper
1 dash  cayenne pepper
1/4 tsp  worcestershire sauce
2 cup  heavy cream
1 cup  sliced almonds
 
melt 4 tablespoons butter and blend in flour, salt, pepper, cayenne 
pepper, and worcestershire sauce. add cream and cook until thickened, 
stirring constantly. keep warm. 
 
cook beans in boiling salted water for 5 minutes; drain. drain bean 
sprouts and water chestnuts. place half of the beans in a 2 quart 
baking dish. top with half of the bean sprouts, half of the water 
chestnuts, and half of the cheese. evenly distribute half of the sauce. 
repeat layers. melt remaining butter and add almonds. sprinkle on top 
of mixture in baking dish. bake in a preheated 425f. oven for 15-20 
minutes, or until heated and nuts are browned.
